TOROSEPT

Torosept is a powerful antiseptic solution offering three distinct advantages over traditional products like povidone iodine. It provides quicker antibacterial activity with a strong residual effect, making it ideal for use in surgical and medical procedures. Unlike povidone iodine, Torosept does not stain the skin post-procedure. It has potent broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy against a wide range of microbes, including viruses (such as hepatitis B and HIV), fungi, and bacteria (including staphylococci and tuberculosis). Additionally, Torosept is an effective antiseptic for prepping the skin post-closure of wounds, with a defatting effect that cleanses and degreases the skin.

Area of Application

• Torosept in Surgery:
  • Prepping of Site Prior to Incision:
    Ten minutes prior to incision, paint the operative and peri-operative area for 2 minutes with a sterile swab dipped in Torosept (one swab for 2-3 bands). Allow the area to dry for about 30 seconds and re-paint as before. Allow it to dry again and cover with sterile towels, leaving the incision site open.
  • Post-Closure:
    Gently apply Torosept to and around the operation site to clean it thoroughly. Dress the wound with a sterile dressing moistened in Torosept.

Torosept in Minor Injuries:
Torosept serves as a complete antiseptic for cleaning and dressing minor lacerations, CLWs (clean, lacerated wounds), injection sites, and for preparing invasive investigations like scopys and catheterizations.
